More About This Website

This is my effort to share my thoughts with readers about concerns facing our country today.  I believe there is a good chance my grandchildren may be the first generation in the history of this great country not to have a better standard of living than their parents. If so, our generation is to blame. The clock is running out for damage control. .

American Dream Moves to Asia

My generation has destroyed the American Dream for my kids and grandchildren. We did it out of apathy. We were not political. We had misguided trust in our elected officials. We thought they would do the right thing for the right reasons. They haven't for a long time and we let it go on.

Ask yourself this question. What are you going to do with the days you have left? We grandparents have an advantage and a disadvantage. First, the disadvantage. We have fewer days left. If you go out tomorrow to buy a life insurance policy it will confirm that. Next, the advantage, we have more time each day to try to undo what we did.

The people we have put in office the past 30 years have betrayed us. They have responded to special interests. Why else would Obama be saying he would put a cap and trade in his first few months in office? Isn't the pain great enough now? Why else would McCain say he wouldn't drill in ANWR? They have created a bigger more ineffective government. They have reduced our freedoms. They have made bad decision after bad decision. In truth, they may have put us out of business.

We have a country that doesn't manufacture anything. We have a country that is so arrogant we want to export a failing system of government to other countries. We spend billions of dollars to do it. We ,as individuals, follow the lead of our country and spend more than we make. We resent success and prosperity. We resent corporations, big and small. We resent progress. This is a short list of what will make us a second rate nation.

The Asian model has rolled back the tape on our success and tweaked it. They want progress and want it fast. And, we are a good customer for their corporations that create jobs and prosperity for their citizens. They have a few strong leaders who decide what is best for the county. Like a corporation with a board of directors. We have a cadre of fools who went to law school and love to meet and debate and nothing gets solved. They are doing what's best for the people and we are doing what is best for special interests.

They will win and we will lose. The propaganda machine in America which shapes thought has led us to believe we should follow their model of a nation that should be in Fantasy Land. It won't work. A nation that believes in bunk like Global Warming. New spin from the media, Global Warming will cause more kidney stones in 50 years. Guess what, we will be a country of poverty in 10 years by buying that bunk. No jobs, no prosperity, no wealth. Our grandchildren will be sneaking into Mexico in 10 years.

Our political model is broken. If you want to spend some of your remaining days to try to fix it, it might be the most important job you've ever had. Many of you have taken on some big challenges in your life. Let's get together and strap this on.
